I have just made a Rachael drawing. It has been 10 years since I last drew anything. I had almost forgotten. You can see my drawing in my page http://rrpac.upr.clu.edu:9090/~cb952601 in the new Artwork section. And also, big thanks to Jerald for letting me post his awesome works. I'd love to hear some comments about my drawing.

Though it is messy I use my finger for the softer shadows. I will maybe try the cotton buds method as it sounds worth giving it a go. Thanks Jerald.I have the hair line OK after some work and the nose and mouth were pretty much right anyway. I just can't seem to place the eyes correctly. I sent Stephen a first attempt which I did a while ago which actually looked better printed out than it did on the screen but I was just not happy with the eyes. They were not quite "Rachael". One evening I shall put on some "mood" music and see what I can do. The first draft was done to the "gentle" sounds of Papa Roach!!! I suspect the second attempt will be worked on next to "Britney"!! Maybe Alicia Keys. I do have some varying tastes in music, if you hadn't guessed. Then again maybe something classical...

Up until that last drawing I had not had anything in the background while drawing, or since, so I though maybe I ought to give it a go to see how I got on.

Eyes are the hardest part to draw; best advice is to get a book to help you. The eyes go exactly between the ears and across the bridge of the nose. If you bisect the head into a Northern and Southern hemishpere, the eyes are located halfway up the Northern hemisphere. The spacing of the eyes has a science to it too, but people have different spacing, so I usually ignore that rule mostly. I hope I helped in some way.-TR

Another pointer... try to draw the eyes first. Try to measure how far they are apart. Then from that it will be easier to know where to put the nose, then the mouth. Also, don't start by drawing the shape of the face. Hope those help.
A sketch of what the head shape is is what I meant, not the actual final facial outline. That should definitely be later on. I agree about drawing the eyes first. -TR
