Well I don't play guitar, so I don't know how fake her playing looked in the movie, but you gotta give her some credit: she learned guitar simply for purposes of that movie. She didn't know any guitar before JATP (and neither did Rosario know bass and Tara Reid know drums). And so what if the guitar playing looks fake? The movie is still amazing.

I disagree. I think they all did a great job of looking pretty convincing. Sure, it isn't going to be perfect, but it is better than many movies where it is plainly obvious that the actor cannot sing or play. This production took an effort to prepare and make it look as real as possible in the short amount of time they had. I think everyone did a great job.

Sorry TR and kabitzin495. what i meant to say is i noticed that the guitar playing was fake BECAUSE i play the guitar. And it did take me a while to notice. i actually watch the movie to get some of the cords but soon gave up because u didnt see the guitar enough time to realy get it, and i play in a total different tuning to her. but yeah, a lot of it looked real, her fingers were in the right positions for the type of music she was playing, very well done indeed for someone who dosent play that much. but i had no idea she learnt the guitar just for that movie. anyone know if she still plays guitar? I would think it hard for anyone to stop playin guitar after they started, its so FUN!

by the way: I played classic guitar for seven years, it surely was fun, but somehow life came between me and the guitar. I was quite occupied and didn't found much time for playing and nowadays I don't play guitar anymore (although I still own one). that's life...

Does anyone know if Rachael still plays the guitar regularly? A friend of mine told me that she was once on some TV special giving guitar lessons, and that she was pretty good at it. Not sure if that's true or not.
