Actor Rachael Leigh Cook is calling for a permanent end to Canada's annual slaughter of baby seals for their fur.
Rachael, who got her start modeling at an early age, knows that there's nothing glamorous about fur. During her photo shoot for PETA's "Save the Seals" ad series, Rachael—who's best known for roles in comedies such as She's All That and Josie and the Pussycats—told us, "You always just think of them as our quiet neighbors to the North, and then to find out that this was going on was shocking." It's time for the Canadian government to listen to its citizens and compassionate people worldwide and stop this bloody massacre. - Watch the 'Save the Seals' Interview video [Windows Media] - Watch the 'Save the Seals' Interview video [QuickTime] - Watch the 'Save the Seals' Interview video [Flash Media Player] [Download the video] Source: http://www.peta.org/feat-Seal-Rachael-Leigh.asp This message has been edited. Thanks for finding & posting! They took a quite strange photo but I guess it would have been more strange if she was smiling on it.
The seal-hitting footage is really brutal! |

It's a hard video to watch. I hate seeing the animals being harmed.

I know, I can't watch that.
As far as I know, that's the way Peta videos tend to be, though. ------- “When I was born, the doctor asked my parents, ‘How do you want to spell Rachel?’ And they were, like, ‘There's another way to spell it?’ It didn't cost anything extra, and they liked it, so they added the ‘a.’ But now at restaurants when I put my name down, they always call out Raquel or Rach-a-el.” - RACHAEL LEIGH COOK. |
