“When I was born, the doctor asked my parents, ‘How do you want to spell Rachel?’ And they were, like, ‘There's another way to spell it?’ It didn't cost anything extra, and they liked it, so they added the ‘a.’ But now at restaurants when I put my name down, they always call out Raquel or Rach-a-el.” - RACHAEL LEIGH COOK.

Actress Rachael Leigh Cook joined the thousands that turned out to fight cancer at the Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk for Women Saturday.

"There's no one, not only in this crowd, but in this city whose life hasn't been touched in one way or another by cancer, and I'm so proud to be a part of the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women," Cook told reporter Carlos Granda of KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet's parent company.

Cook turned out for the event with a friend whose mother is a breast cancer survivor. Cook also said the disease hits home for her as well.

"I lost a grandmother who I never got to meet. It's very important stuff. There's no understating it," said Cook.

Actor James Denton of Desperate Housewives also came out to show his support by volunteering for the event.

I saw Antitrust January 12th, 2001, opening night. I was struck by her beauty then the first night I saw her.. and even now, more than 9 years later, I see a new pic, and that feeling still exists.
