I know this question is probably too redundant. I want to know if her name is her real one. It's just that I'm curious about many of the artists using their real name or another one. I'm not asking for her real name if she has one. My interst for her name is as similar as for any other artist. I'm curious about the proportion of real names in Hollywood. If I want to act, you I have to change my name or something? That's probably the question I'm asking about.

Her last name is her grandmothers maiden-name. So, its sort of a stage name. Its for privacy reasons.

Why are you against stage names, Fable? Most people around the internet who post to messageboards or go to chat rooms also use stage names for privacy...

It is ! TR and Steve and all other fans will tell you...
Real name: Rachael Leigh Cook Anecdote: At her birth, she was supposed to be named "Rachel" only, but some kind of cute mistake on the birth card at the hospital in Minneapolis where she is born, a nurse has put accidentally an "a" in her first name. Mrs Cook (Joanne) kinda found it original and the name stayed. Even her dad Tom joked about it at the doctor saying if it costs extra to add on an extra letter on the first name... Anyway, it is said and done ! RealLiveClaude "It's cool if you like it, it's okay if you don't, just decide for yourselves..." |

Claude is close.
When giving a name, the doctor asked, "How do you want to spell that? With or without the extra 'A'?" It was new news to learn that there was more than one way to spell it. To this, Tom, Rachael's father, quipped, "Does the extra 'A' cost extra?" Anyway, yes, that is the name she was born with; she doesn't do the Natalie Portman thing and have a stage-name. I think I will move this to the FAQ section. -TR |
