I thought she said somewhere that she was a vegetarian because it became a habit of hers and she found it heathier or whatever.
Is it a moral issue for her or just a preference?

I wouldn't say that you have to be a vegan to have a moral issue with it. There are different kinds of vegetarians and I believe RLC fits into what is the most common group:

No meat, no fish, but eggs and dairy products are okay. Basically, as long as you don't have to kill something, it's okay to eat it.
