Has anyone seen this movie yet? I watched it last night and I thought it was better than average, maybe 3 out of 4 stars? Rachael seemed a little unsure in the role at first but as the movie progressed, she got more into the character and by the end I was mesmerized. Hugh Dancy was great as the young thief-a jerk of a character-trying to juggle a relationship with Rachael as well as an aging but still attractive (and busty!) Melanie Griffith. Some charming footage of Paris and an incredible car chase too. Rent it now!!

I kinda like it, though it was a bit déjà vu for me. Fun to see Malcolm McDowell as well and some other actors (the mercenary at the end is from Quebec !)

Sad note: Rachael does not speak very much Français (French...)

An OK thriller...

My quick thoughts:

Tempo is almost like two different movies with plot threads that occasionally intertwine. The movie with Rachael and Hugh Dancy is pretty good. The way they interact...the banter, the playfulness, the way they mix in a little awkwardness with the passion...works really well. Very natural, very believable, even with the extremely short time table that's set.

Unfortunately, the movie with Melanie Griffith is pretty awful. Stilted acting, a bland, overedited car chase, an uneventful smuggling, a heist with a twist that's telegraphed early on...

It's worth a rental or maybe buying if you can get a good deal, but I was disappointed with the overall movie. The parts with Rachael really are well-done, though.

I thought the movie was okay, but I thought that the love scenes showed a maturing in Rachael's acting. There are some who post on this board that feel that if Rachael goes "full montey",Rachael will have sold out and these so-called fans will dismiss Rachael. I feel true fans should support Rachael no matter how much skin she chooses to reveal or cover. In both "Tempo" and in "The Big Empty" Rachael has scenes in which she is topless, but, because of clever camera angles and editing not much is really shown. I feel that this shows a maturing and self-confidence in her acting (maybe even in herself!) given that in past interviews she had been animate about not being nude or having a body double be nude for her.

I thought it was an average film, and I think Adam summed it up pretty well.

Rachael and Hugh Dancy are very good but Melainie Griffith was badly misscast.

The story is reasonable, but could have been done so much better. The Melanie Griffith story struck me as a pale imitation of parts of the film Ronin.

Rachael is very good... and is as a cute as ever, sigh Roll Eyes

So as a Rachael fan, it's definately worth watching.
Overall 6/10.

I liked the movie. My only real objection to Melanie Griffiths would be her voice...
