Can you please give me instructions on how to join the CHAT because I want to. What are the necessary things should I download to join the chat? What are the necessary things do I need to fill up in the Java applet?

I learned that the best way to chat is to download (and install) mIRC (chatting software) or a similar IRC program. Then just input the info listed above to join the chat! It works well and is better (more features) than the java chat. Not to mention that the java chat currently is not registered yet so it complains constantly. (This will be fixed soon, though. Just ignore the prompts for now.)

Both methods bring you to the same chatroom, though.

Hey guys. Why can't I connect to the RLC chat room? I'm using the mirc software that I downloaded. When I connect ot the server, it says "Unable to connect, connection refused"???.
I think I already did what TR told me. What else can I do? Any suggestions?

Its taking so long to connect to the irc.hal-9000.net server. When you guys connect to the server, does it take you so long?

I've read the help of mirc software. It says that when "unable to connect" appears, the IRC server may not be currently working, or perhaps is an old address and doesn't exist anymore.
Would you guys please mind to help a helpless RLC fan who can't connect to the RLC server.

I can't think of your problem but maybe you're connecting to the wrong port, make sure it's "6667".

I'm connecting to the right port moosegirl. Its port number 6667 right. And still, unable to connect(connection refused).
Can I ask a question? When you're connecting to the hal sever, did you get connected to it easily? How much time left there is before the RLC chat deadline? I'm still trying to do everything to connect to that server and join the monthly RLC chat.

You could try putting this, 140.186.244.3, in the server area, but it very well might be that you have a firewall. I think there is an option to get around firewalls in mIRC. So you might want to look into it.

Yeah moosegirl. I've put 140.186.244.3 in the server area but the same thing happens. Firewalls, maybe there is something to it. I'll go and check it out. I'll be there in the chat room once I get connected to the hal server alright. Anyway, Thanks moosegirl.

I've seen an Anti-Trust interview about Rachael. The interviewer asked Rachael if she is interested in technology or something. Rachael said "No I'm not". Sad to hear that . Maybe that's why moosegirl posted her message that is related to it.
