I just came up with an idea. would you want a chat with R? i dont know if we ever will get the opportunity to chat with her. i am just asking how many fans would like it. maybe if we find some good reasons why she should chat with us maybe she will someday.
she has done it one time already. chatted just with the fans. i think you should find the chat protocol here on the board somewhere.

so please let us know why you would think its a good idea. there are not many fans here right now so every opinion is important.

I'm sure if she was willing to show up, and a date and time could be given in advance, lots of people would show up.

However, lots of people intending bad things would show up to the chat as well.

I think select members here, and other people in the RLC community (we don't have to limit this to this board, networking is good) should be appointed to find true fans across the web that would love an opportunity such as this.

Having an open public announcement would be the wrong thing to do. If we could just get a couple dozen big devoted fans, it would go very well.

We find the true fans across the web, and contact them letting them know we would like them to show up for the chat. When a date can actually be hammered out, we contact them all again with the date/time. Since I'm sure shes busy, her availability could be low and we may only get last minute notice from her. This is why it is important to get a list of potential chatters ahead of time. Presenting it to Rachael ahead of time to show how many devoted fans would die for the opportunity could increase the odds of it happening as well.

I think a chat would be an excellent idea. It's been a very long time since that other one so the reason could just be that: it's been a while!

I wasn't fortunate enough to be present on that other one, but I do remember it being discussed and I think there was a transcript available if I recall correctly.

Anyways, I agree with wam as well, it'd probably be best to just gather a certain amount of true fans, although it'd probably be difficult to define who fits the bill, or maybe not? I'm not sure, but it would definitely mean that most of the people present would have the chance to participate and ask questions, hopefully better questions than what non-fans may come up with ("Why is your name spelled with an extra "a"?" hehe}.

That would be great.
