I was an usher at a midnight showing of "King Kong", so I was able to see it and I was blown away! Peter Jackson did the impossible, he surpassed the original! Jackson even had scenes and line from the original, I think as an homage.
Andy Sedaris gave Kong emotions and made Kong seem more lifelike, Sedaris also played one of the sailors. The only coplaint that I have is that up until Skull Island is reached the movie dragged(I think that if some of those scenes were cut the movie's running time would be cut from 3hrs.15min. to 2 and a half hours), but after Skull Island is reached the movie picks up. The CGI is beautiful, it augments, does not dominate, the movie.
