LOL Just like Rex Harrison. Actually, Zach was supposed to do a "spit take" during that scene as an homage to "My Fair Lady", but Robert Iscove protested and the scene was never shot that way. It ended up as you saw it. Just a bit more useless trivia for you all. LOL -TR |

| Robert Iscove did the right move... The Downstairs Scene is now a classic with RLC fans ! RealLiveClaude It's cool if you like it, it's okay if you don't, just decide for yourselves... |

A "spit take" is used in movies when someone is drinking something and something causes them to spit it out (usually in an exaggerated spray). Often, it is something that surprises them or something of that sort. It is usually for comedic effect. -TR |

| I think the spit take would have been too much. I prefer when he looks in awe instead of spitting Simon's fake Margarita...

| I agree with RealLiveClaude...it would have been too much.... Although there have been some great spit takes in other movies, i dont think it is what the downstairs scene is all about...Zack's pleasantly surprised expression certainly says more about what he's thinking and it suits the mood of the scene better... It would have also distracted from the bit where Laney trips and the music stops...which always makes me smile.... |

| Well, it wasn't a violent "spit-take" that was planned with fluid spraying out of his mouth. LOL Zach was supposed to simply let his drink dribble back into the glass from his mouth with a stunned look on his face. Watch the same scene in "My Fair Lady" and you will know what I'm talking about. Rex Harrison does just that. Maybe that clarifys it more. -TR |

| [*****WARNING: ANTI-TRUST SPOILER WITHIN******* -TR] I just saw Anti-Trust last night, although she looked good in the movie she didn't appear much and she had a few lines in there. And I really didn't expect her to be one of the bad guys, man that was disappointing. Any way, she did good in her acting, I just hoped that she had more appearances there and a richer script bady girl or not. [This message was edited by TR on November 02, 2002 at 12:17 PM.] |
