Okay, here goes my now customary review of a Rachael film I've seen for the first time. No spoilers this time.

"The House of Yes" is an independent film which centers around a woman with a fixation on Jackie Kennedy. The story focuses on her adult life and her interactions with her family, especially her brother who has just returned home with his new fiancee.

As a girl, she used to pretended to be Jackie Kennedy. That's Rachael's role--she's the young Jackie-O being filmed as she gives a mock tour of the White House. Rachael is shown for only a few minutes at the beginning and again at the end of the film in the home movies. Everyone's seen the vidcaps, but if not, she's dressed in Jackie Kennedy's famous pink outfit with the pink hat. (The same one Parker Posey wears on the movie poster.)

Rachael imitates the real Jackie Kennedy very well as far as gestures, body language, and speech patterns are concerned. In foreshadowing her character's mental instability, Rachael flips out, which is very funny to see. Besides the jumping on stage and running around in "Josie", I think it might be the single most physical outburst of energy I've seen from Rachael. At the very end, she gives the camera a wicked look that makes it obvious that the events of the film were bound to happen.

There's a "She's All That" connection in that Freddy Prinze, Jr. has a supporting role as adult Jackie's younger brother. He and Rachael obviously don't have scenes together. It's also pretty funny to see Tori Spelling do something besides "90210".

Overall, a black comedy that's not for everyone, but pretty funny if you aren't completely offended by some of the characters' actions. I'd recommend it.

Here's my revised scale of Rachael movies I've seen based on her performance, her screen time, and how much the film as a whole appealed to me.

1. She's All That
2. Josie and the Pussycats
3. Antitrust
4. Country Justice
5. The Hi-Line / The Bumblebee Flies Anyway(too close to call)
7. The Eighteenth Angel
8. Get Carter
9. All I Wanna Do
10. The House of Yes (b/c she's barely in it and her two scenes could be removed from the film with zero consequence)

I thoroughly enjoyed The House of Yes and watch it often. Parker was great!
