Unfortunately, it appears that the chatroom that we shared with RLC.Desktop has been hijacked, so we can no longer use that particular chat any longer. I was informed of this just recently.

I was hopeful that maybe one of our members had a solution for us. We simply need a little channel to chat on for the fans. (We'd need to set some users as Ops to mod the channel, of course.) Anyone out there with ideas? Please feel free to email me or post here. Thank you.

Are you the one that hijacked the channel? We can't use that channel anymore... Why would dotnet want to use a channel where we don't even have Op status? Thanks, but I think we'll pass. I'm still disappointed to see that a fan would do such a thing to the community. I see us moving on.

who said you can't use it? nothing has changed. the channel is still the same... maybe just a little different and better! everyone is welcome to come in and chat about rach and whatever. what are you talking about? is op status so important? you don't need ops to chat about rach. now get your lil ass in there and be cool.

Nope, this site will no longer use that chatroom for official gatherings. FYI, Op status can be important when it comes to controlling problematic chatters that sometimes pop in. There are other reasons, but I won't go into that.

I think bank may have lined up a proper room for us to use. Thanks in advance, bank.

Unfortunately, I think you are missing the point. Anyway, we are looking for a proper place to have official chats and I believe bank already has something setup for us. I don't think we'll be ready for the chat that was scheduled for tomorrow, but maybe we will hold it next weekend, instead. (Unless there are snags that hold it up longer.)

I am still disappointed that the "official" chatroom for this site, and other Rachael sites, was stripped from our hands. I can't express how very noble of you it is to invite us back to our own room again; you are truly a generous and honorable soul. Did I mention honest too? We just don't wish to play by your rules in a room that you apparently now "own."

Trust me... I am trying to be very nice about this. I am definitely not happy, though.

Great! I'm happy a solution is being worked on, and I'm sorry for what happened with the other chatroom, don't think it's worth bringing up again though, better to move on

I am very happy to announce that we have a new chatroom (that we again share with RLC.Desktop), thanks to bank! Thank you to others who offered a place to chat, but I think the solution bank came up with seems to be the best and most reliable.

Anyway, everything is as it always was, but now the server is different for those using IRC to chat. The java chat that is built into this website now points to the new room, so all you have to do is click the "CHAT" button on the main page and away you go!

I'll schedule a chat for Sunday, September 11th, to help make up for the fact that we didn't have a proper chat last month. We'll still hold one on the last Sunday of the month, though!
