CRAZY LAWYERS (FOX) - Adam Goldberg ("Saving Private Ryan"), Rachael Leigh Cook ("She's All That") and Rockmond Dunbar ("Soul Food") have all joined the cast of the drama pilot, about a successful golden boy lawyer (Chris O'Donnell) who has a nervous breakdown and teams up with another mentally disturbed lawyer with an anger problem to help people with issues, legal and otherwise. Goldberg will play Shultz, said unkempt attorney with an explosive rage problem, while Cook is set as Kate, a rich, troubled young woman who got to know Payne (O'Donnell's character) in the hospital he was admitted to after his breakdown. Dunbar then will play Dr. Robinson, a therapist who helps out the characters. Aimee Garcia also stars as the assistant to Payne and Shultz. "Lawyers" comes from executive producers Jeff Rake, Bill Chais and Barry Josephson and is set up at 20th Century Fox Television. -TR

I wonder if Rachael is intimidated. This is such a "new" concept for her, playing a troubled person opposite Chris O'Donnell. I highly doubt she would do this, and cetainly not as a waitress who is harassed by a policeman, for a film!

I received information today that the title of the pilot is now apparently, "Head Cases." It was also known as "House of Payne" a while ago, but "Head Cases" is apparently the current title. Let's wait and see what it REALLY will be, in the end. lol -TR

I hope this show gets a chance. I don't know about Aimee Garcia,I have thought Chris O'Donnell was okay, as for Rachael 'nuff said, I have not seen Soul Food, but I think I have seen Rockmond Dunbar in something else and I liked him. I think that Adam Goldburg though, will steal the show. He had a small recurring role on a TV program called Friends.(I don't know how popular Coupling is, but Friends was so popular that when an Americanized verson of Coupling tried to take the place of Friends after Friends went off the air, Coupling was canciled after only two or three episodes) The character that Adam played was that of a psycho roommate. His character was so creepy, it was great. Shultz is the perfect role for him. I am sorry to say that he may even outshine our Rachael, lets hope this does not happen.

Maybe it is a good omen that Michael Rapaport also has a tentative pilot with Fox, since he starred with Rachael in both Naked Man and 29 Palms.

I have not watched Lost, but from what I hear about it, it seems like a straight-forward sci-fi thriller. Crazy Lawyers seems like the same quirky-makes-you-have-to-think films that Rachael makes and then go straight to DVD.

I think that "Head Cases" has a good chance of making it. I simply have a good feeling about it. I just hope it plays out as I feel it will and that an audience finds it. By the way, I have never seen even one second of "Lost," but I know that it has a decent following. I like to think that both shows won't really bring in the same audience, anyway. -TR

TR, you seem like an intelligent person that does not care if you are watching a movie or TV program that challenges you, I to am that way. Maybe I am underestimating the average American television viewer, but I don't picture him or her as wanting to be challenged. A good example is a TV program called Cracker. Cracker was a BBC program that was remade for America. It was about a psychologist(a forensic psycologist I believe) who was able to solve crimes and help others, yet unable to resolve his own psychological demons-it only lasted one season or less. If "Head Cases" is that dark I don't think it stads a chance.

I'm both ways, I will watch some stuff that makes you thing, and just straight out entertainment. Lost is one of my favourite shows, so it's a shame that Head Cases will be up against it. Tivo works, but it's a shame it will be beaten in the ratings big time.

I just read a newspaper article that says the stars of Head Cases are Adam Goldberg and Bill Chais. It does not mention Chris O'Donnell.

Matt, "Head Cases" isn't going to be dark, like you think it will be, I think. Just wait and let's see how it ends up feeling when it airs. wam-raven, don't be so quick to damn the show to losing ratings versus "Lost." It is far too early to make such decisions. -TR

Amy posted news that Rachael will not be involved in the new series. It's a bit of a bummer, but at least now Rachael will have more time to do movies. http://community.rachaelleighcook.net/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/51760062/m/6921082202 "At Fox, Rachael Leigh Cook is departing the new drama series "Head Cases." The show stars Chris O'Donnell as a successful lawyer with a nervous breakdown who teams up with a lawyer with an anger problem (Adam Goldberg)." -TR
