The Big Empty is coming to DVD, courtesy of Artisan Entertainment, on April 20th, 2004.
The DVD will reportedly include an alternate ending, deleted scenes, a gag reel, an audio commentary, a 'making of' featurette, an anamorphic widescreen presentation, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, and optional English/Spanish subtitles/closed captions.
What is it with Rachael and character-driven movies about snatching large sums of money, set in the desert?
Adam, by thanking you for telling this news, we should call you "Mr DVD News" with all the DVD release dates you told us and you should submit your resumé as newsman... Good Luck..
Thanks. One of my hobbies is keeping up with DVDs that are being released, and since I'm fairly familiar with the titles Rachael has been involved with, they usually stand out a bit when I'm skimming these lists.
"The Big Empty" comes out on DVD today in the U.S. For anyone looking to add it to their shoppin' list, the best price floating around online looks to be Deep Discount DVD, who's carrying it for $14.35 shipped. Other than DDD and their sister store Digital Eyes, the going price seems to be hovering around $20 (including brick-and-mortar stores like Circuit City and Best Buy). There aren't any reviews of the DVD online yet, as far as I can tell. I don't think Artisan/Lion's Gate has sent out any screeners to the usual DVD review sites.
