Work has been pretty busy (probably why I just surf by). But I had to let my old buddies Sunjammer and TR know what I found out when I skimmed the headlines ond saw the article! Hope things are going well for you over there and you haven't been covered in a layer of ice for the past 3 months or so!!! |

I figured RLC would go to TV at some point in time. Now, the way I read this, she's shooting a pilot. For people on here who are totally unfamiliar with how TV works, that does not mean she'll be on TV this fall. Shooting a pilot means that the network is interested in the show and wants to see a sample before they commit to it.
Even if they pick up the show, it doesn't mean RLC will be on TV this fall. Often a pilot is shot, and then major changes are made before the show actually airs. For example, the pilot for Star Trek featured Captain Pike rather then Cptn. Kirk, and Seinfeld underwent major changes between the pilot and the next episode. Julia-Louis Dreyfuss wasn't in the pilot, the diner was totally different and Michael Richards' character had his name changed from Kessler to Kramer. That being said, one of the nice things about this forum is the fact that there are not alot of people who post here alot. It kind of makes you feel like you know everyone a little bit better because there's not so many people here. That will probably change if this show does hit the air and has any success. In other words, to our moderators, let me make one suggestion: Upgrade your server space. You might be about to need it. All that is very true! You hear actors and comedienes talk about "pilot season" on all these talk shows and how they hope their show gets picked up.
One of the things that I feel is promising about this particular report is that the show is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer TV (along with Warner Bros.). Mr Bruckheimer has a lot of power in the industry and is part of the force behind "CSI" and "Survivor" shows. Heck! He even was able to push Kangaroo Jack to make a good sized dent in the box office. So while a pilot is only a pilot, hopefully, this one's pedigree will help give it an extra boost. Also, even if it doesn't end up making it...at least she has made a relationship with one of the major power players in Hollywierd (er...wood). |

Is it too early to tell whether this will be shown in countries other than the US? Im guessing it is as its still in the pilot stage

It's still too early to figure out whether those of us in the U.S.A. will ever see this, much less anywhere else.

Another article mentioning the pilot:
http://tv.zap2it.com/news/tvnewsdaily.html?30457 I must admit that I read every single "Sweet Valley High" book, once upon a day. lol How sad is that? So, do you guys thing that Rachael should go blonde for the role? I think that aspect of the character is not needed, but we will wait and see what is decided. -TR |

I went to find out a little more about the show based on the books and here' what I've found:
Gaia Moore is the name of the main character. In the book series, she is 17, but is set to be in her early 20s on the show. In the books, she is a tall blonde. RLC is obviously not tall, and I personally would prefer her not to play it blonde. (Not a fan of that Get Carter look.) Gaia apparently has a thing for chocolate Krispy Kreme donuts (smart girl) and works with the FBI. The bad guy is Gaia's uncle, and her father is a CIA agent that is missing. Her best friend is Ed, whose in a wheelchair, and their is a girl named Sam that despises her. It seems that most of the fans of the books are girls in their teens, from what I could tell. Hope you don't mind TR, but I gave a link to the site and asked them to give us a little better synopsis of the books. For anyone interested: Fearless Online They've apparently been discussing the show over there for a few months now. I'm impressed that you learned so much about the books in such a short time. I am assuming that you talked to someone who read them? Either that or you read a synopsis or something.

quote: Thanks for letting us know, man. We appreciate it. As for the past months, well... Ice, yes. Snow, yes. Strange weather, yes. Work is taking up much of my time. This leaves RLC dot Net (and other sites) less attended than before. On my part anyways. Luckily, TR is around to run things. I'm learning ASP and JSP to widen my skills. This also takes a lot of time. But hey, who's complainin'? ______________________________________ "Ignite our minds and let's burn brighter..." - Dark Tranquillity |

actually, sam is a GUY that gaia is in love with....heather's the girl that hates gaia (heather is also sam's girlfriend)...well, that's the storyline for the first book, anway. of course, there've been 26 books, so a lot's changed. rachael might have too small of a stature to play gaia, and there's also the fact that she makes a better brunette (or red head, like in Josie and the Pussycats). rachael's very pretty, and she's got this spunky (for lack of a better word lol) thing goin on, but i don't think she'd fit the role as Gaia. i could be wrong though.

Rachael in a TV series ? There's another opportunity, with risks though...
Advantages: 1.Most WB series are ending their run, Dawson's Creek is one example... 2.They are looking for new ones and new faces to be brought in... 3.Rachael is still yet not another household name. She has chances though, and she has talent to prove it. By the way, she went into everything in the movie business and seeing her every week would be a change (I am a fan of The Division, where one of my faves, Nancy McKeon, has a role, far from her Jo Polniaczek image...) Disavantages: 1.Recently, I saw a series which wasn't that bad, if it wasn't for "Smallville": Birds of Prey. The 3 women who played in it were good looking, but the script, which is based on the Batman legend, was not at the best. Sad to see a Batman spinoff going down... And it played on the WB! 2. If the show fails, what next ? 3. We won't see RLC in a major movie project for a while. And risk to see her "stereotyped" like Laney Boggs in "She's All That" However, the WB! mostly shoot their productions in Canada (despite what Hollywood sez !), so what's gonna past for NYC ? Vancouver, Toronto...or Montreal ? We'll know more in a few weeks, since I read in one in the articles that she was negociating... Wait and see... More casting news...
"Leo Fitzpatrick, who starred as Telly in the controversial feature "Kids," has landed a guest role on the WB drama pilot "Fearless." Fitzpatrick will play the nemesis in the pilot, which comes from Warner Bros. TV and Jerry Bruckheimer. Thesp, repped by Don Buchwald and Acronym, will appear in the upcoming film "Blind Horizon" opposite Val Kilmer. Other credits include "Storytelling," "Serendipity" and HBO's "The Wire."" Thanks to Variety.com and to fearlessonline.com for informing me know about this. -TR |
