It was released in France today.
Here's a link to an online shop that has a biggish pic of the box: http://www.cinestore.com/html/fiche_produits.php?groupe=1&page=1&id=12148

Interesting info for Rachael Fans in France. However, they try to cash in Elijah Wood's success of "The Lord of the Rings" to sell the movie...

They bill Rachael's main movie as... "She's All That!"

Wish them luck in France, hoping they'll sell in Quebec some day...

Taunting us with that title and then stepping on our hopes by telling us it's only available in France! What kind of monster are you?!

Just kidding... well, mostly. smile

I didn't realise that was a problem. Why can't you order it from France? I know I will.

Especially if you're from Europe and can pay in Euros... Or send a e-mail in Paris to see if they accept out-of-Europe...

In my case, unless if I have an all-region DVD (expensive...$$$), I can't have it in Canada. And anyway, I got a copy on VHS !

ereiamjh, DVD's are coded for use in different parts of the world. The U.S. uses Zone 1, Europe is Zone 2, etc. So unless someone has a DVD player that uses Zone 2, the DVD would be useless to anyone else, they won't play in a different zones player. Unless you get your DVD player modified (illegally) and there's a good chance if you try to do this that your DVD player will be messed up. So except for people in Europe the DVD won't do anyone else any good. However, here's to hoping that means it's on it's way to the USA.

I'm from the UK and so am in the same zone as France anyway.
I don't know about the rest of the world, but in the UK it's not illegal to have your player modified - and most shop assistants are usually more than happy to do it for you before you buy the player (at no extra cost). Most modern players are actually very easily modified (and are designed that way) - usually it's just a case of pressing certain buttons on the remote in a particular order.
I've got DVDs from zones 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 smile (but not 6 frown)

I see it has an English track as well. My DVD was modified to any region by pressing a combintation of buttons on the remote. I most get Region 1 movies as they are (normally) out earlier. The movie is 25 Euros which is about $25 or maybe less.

Maybe I shall have to consider it. I had the American copy on order but I am not sure whether it will ever be released.

What does the French title translate to:

the empty memory...?
the missing memory...?
...?

Hmm, good point. I really like the American name - I mean, the whole bumblebee thing is pivotal to the story and makes for a really cool name to boot. Kinda like Antitrust. Of course, you don't realize the meaning of the name until most of the way though the movie, which is ok.

HawkDawg of what I know it can be modified with a multiregional that is install, I think you know where they can do that in your country, here were I lived it cost from 20 - 40 dollars, but I think is kinda risky, so if you want to do that, do it with a professional

Anyone seen Memento? Wow, now there was a fantastic memory loss movie. If you haven't seen it, do so, but make sure you're ready to think. About every 15 minutes you have to totally re-evaluate everything you've seen. It's so totally cool.

HawkDawg there is a PS2 disk called Region X (available in the UK) which makes the PS2 play any region. I don't know if it is available in America though.

I have Memento definitely a rethink every so often. On the UK release there is an "Easter Egg" that allows you to watch the movie in the order that the events happened which I really must watch. They reckon you need to watch the movie as it comes, then in chronological order to sort out the film. Then revert to the original sequence then finally in chronological order again. Then you get a clear picture of what is happening.

ereiamjh have you ordered the movie yet?

Nope, I've just lost my job so I doubt I'l be able to afford it anytime soon frown
I've ordered plenty of DVDs from France in the past though and haven't had any problems - just don't order from cdiscount as their shipping prices are exorbitant.

Also... Region X is apparently being given away free with the next issue PSi2 magazine.
