I came across a site that had a blurb saying that the score for this movie was just completed this week. Hopefully this means we're closer to a release.

The movie will be released on DVD on February 10th, 2009. I meant to post this sooner. Sorry for the delay. Smile

There will be bonus materials and extra features on the DVD, but they have not been announced yet, since the film is still in post-production.

According to what I have read at several websites, it is going to be released on December 31st.

From [the writer and director] David Ondaatje's website:
"Sony Pictures Entertainment/Stage 6 Films
Exclusive Engagement: December 2008
In more Theaters: January 2009"

From IMDb, like TR said:
"USA 10 February 2009 (DVD premiere)"

Lodger is Coming Home on DVD
Source:ShockTillYouDrop.com
December 15, 2008

The Lodger, by writer-director David Ondaatje, crept into theaters here in L.A. recently... then disappeared. Strange since Sony wasn't supposed to give this a limited release until the 31st, unless it opens somewhat wider then. One thing's for sure, it's coming to DVD on February 10th. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment tells us it will arrive with:

• Deleted and alternate scenes
Beyond the Shadows: Behind the Scenes of The Lodger featurette

The Lodger follows a seasoned detective on the trail of a ruthless killer intent on slaughtering prostitutes along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip. It appears that the murderer's grisly methods are identical to that of London's infamous 19th century psychopath Jack the Ripper - a relentless serial killer who was never caught by police. To make matters worse, the detective soon notices the parallels between the crimes committed by the West Hollywood stalker and those of a serial murderer incarcerated years ago.

Alfred Molina, Hope Davis, Simon Baker, Shane West, Phillip Baker Hall, Rebecca Pidgeon and Rachel Leigh Cook star. And yes, this is roughly based on the film by Alfred Hitchcock, furthermore, the work of Marie Belloc Lowndes.

No DVD art was available at the time of this writing, but we'll update you when it comes in!
