glimpse at Rachael's next project:

LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Rachael Leigh Cook is set to star in and co-executive produce the indie comedy/love story feature "Invisible Girl" for first-time writer-director Max Hoffman. The project begins shooting May 8 in Los Angeles.

The film, budgeted in the $10 million-$15 million range, is about a young woman (Cook) whom no one ever notices until she uses herself as bait to capture a serial killer. Eric Bernat, another newcomer, co-wrote the script with Hoffman.

Cook is co-executive producing through her Ben's Sister Prods. "Girl" marks the company's second credit, having recently wrapped production on the indie feature "29 Palms," in which Cook also starred (HR 3/1). Cook also co-produced the indie feature "Tangled," which Miramax picked up for distribution earlier this year (HR 2/27).

Majestic Entertainment Group president Aziz Alaoui is producing and financing the project. The company is also handling worldwide rights to the film. Cook's managers Beverly Strong and Jeff Morrone are co-producing "Girl."

Cook, repped by United Talent Agency and attorney Michael Fuller, next stars in Universal Pictures' "Josie and the Pussycats." Hoffman is repped by Coast to Coast Talent Group's Anne McDermott and the Bauer Co.
