Here are two blurbs about Josie and the Pussycats:

"Josie and the Pussycats" --- Is there any cartoon or TV show that hasn't been made into a movie? This one features Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Parker Posey in a takeoff on the rock-singing girls. For some reason, an actor named Kevin Blatch is listed as a character called ''Gay Rumor Team Member No. 1.'' (April 6)

Josie and The Pussycats is based on the Archie comics and features Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson as singers in a band who are managed by some pretty evil sorts. Being true to their music may send The Pussycats back to the garage where it all began. (Sometime in April.)

Her name is Smurfette! How quickly they forget smile

It's only a matter of time before we see a Jetsons movie.

Yeah. One female Smurf, yet they had hundreds of the little blue critters running around. Can someone explain that to me?

Hehe... I heard they're making a live-action 'The Tick' series on Fox. That should be interesting. The cartoon was humorously bizarre and psychotic so I'm anxious to see what the "real-people" version is gonna be like.

Anyway, from the look of the whole 'Josie and the Pussycats' premise, it does seem like it's gonna be rather corny. Note the list of attractive actresses, especially Rachael. It's probably going to be one of those movies in which they rely on star appeal rather than an actual storyline/etc. However, I had my doubts about many other movies that turned out to be some of the best movies I've seen, so you never know what can happen. The overused "Don't judge a book by it's cover" (Don't judge a movie by its corny premise) has a good chance of applying to this situation. I just hope that it doesn't turn out to be another cartoon-turned-movie flop like "George of the Jungle", "Rocky and Bullwinkle", "The Flintstones", etc.

The Tick stars Putty (Puddy?) from Seinfeld.
